An older couple who has fallen out of love find their way to a mysterious town. that forces them to confront their true emotions, and therefore, each other. This is Topich’s graduate thesis film from UCA. It is his homage to his favorite childhood show, The Twilight Zone. The film has won several awards including, Best Director and Best Cinematography at the 2016 Horror in the Hills Film Festival and Best Sound at the Tabloid Witch Awards. The film stars Duane Jackson, Karen Q. Clark, and Kayla Esmond.
Two Bro’s make working out at the gym a hellish experience for those around them. One of the few comedies that Topich has made. The script was written by his former grad school classmate, Danny Boling, and it was filmed all at the UCA gym. It played at several comedy film festivals. The movie stars Karina Martinez, Kyle Wigginton, and Elmer Escobar.
I Dream of China is an experimental travelogue. It is a collaboration between Topich and his long time friend and fellow artist John Leach, with music from the band Coulomb Fields. The film was partly filmed in Arkansas at an old drive in theater, but most of the footage comes from mainland China where Leach has spent the last half decade living and traveling.
